The old part of the city of Sarzana was a positive surprise with its castle, churches, many small restaurants, and the narrow streets with their boutiques. Palazzo Lari was just one more positive note: central location, beautiful room (with a living room), and Raffaella's warm welcome. Of course, you must put up with a staircase (no lift). However, this is part of the charm of living in an old palace. For this reason, try to limit the weight of your baggage! There is no access for motorcars, but the private parking lot is only five minutes away, and the walk is a good way of discovering Sarzana.

We were waited by the owner when we arrived and we felt like we were arriving in a family we knew for years! The house is very warm, it's a great place to discover the Italian culture, to relax in the garden watching the view and the beautiful flowers! The rooms are big and luxurious, cleanliness 10/10. The breakfast is very varied and homemade. They even used the products directly out of their garden. The lady is very kind and attentive! There are no words to describe how magical it is, you have to come and live it!

The room was large, modern, and comfortable. It was far enough away from the fray to be quiet but still remarkably close to places like La Spezia and Pisa. The restaurant and breakfast were absolutely fantastic, and great access to towns and restaurants in the broader area.

Everything about this place is special. The staff, the building and room. Charming. We only had one night here but it was the most relaxed we’ve felt in 2 weeks of travelling. We will be back for sure and next time stay much longer!

It felt like visiting a private museum that just opened for you and your family. We were allowed to explore the whole castle on our own and literally go everywhere. The rooms were spacious and comfy, the breakfast very good. You should definitely follow the dining recommendations, we had a great dinner there.
