Our friendly hostess, Hiroko, went out of her way to make our stay exceptional. She took us to our destination twice, and served amazing breakfasts. Our comfortable room and bathroom, and the location close to the station were also great.

This was by far my favourite stay of my Japan trip. Not only was the guest house absolutely stunning and tastefully furnished, within very close proximity to the deer park, I was welcomed so warmly and it really felt like home for the night I was there. The renovated machiya is simple and beautiful. The design feels functional and considered, whilst still retaining the lovely old charm of an old home/ shop. Heated flooring is so appreciated in winter. Communication with the staff is also really easy and prompt.

Convenient location, short walk to the station/supermarket and close to Nara park. Got all needed amenities with instructions in English (and also Chinese). 1 room had futons, which were pretty thick and comfy while the other 2 had beds. Each room has a closet, but keep in mind that the stairs can be pretty steep depending on what you're used to. If you have heavy luggage, it might be best to leave it on the first floor.

A typical Japanese house inside a maze of streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. All the important sights of Nara can be comfortably reached on foot. The house was spacious and had everything you might need for a memorable stay including efficient AC units during the hot summer. Although there were only two of us the house will comfortably sleep up to six people. Two showers and toilets.
