Nice large room with a comfy bed, easy chairs, desk and great elevated views out over the hills. Access to a large covered balcony with a table for meals and a great spot for relaxing. Good breakfast and recommend other meals there too. Friendly and helpful host with good advice for your local travel and tours. 15 minute walk to the town centre.

If you travel to Sri Lanka, it would be a huge loss not to spend at least a night in Haputale, at this guesthouse. This was one of the best places we have ever stayed at in our many years of traveling. The host, Saman, and his family, truly made us feel part of their family. We only stayed 2 nights, but it felt like we were staying at an old friend’s family house. They have a wonderful house overlooking the hills. The rooms are wonderful: clean, spacious, with a balcony and with some of the best views we have seen. The location is simply wonderful, in the middle of hills covered with tea plantations. The host showed us a short hike right behind the house through tea plantations, with views of forests, hills, and lakes. The guest house is perfectly located as a starting point for many of the nature attractions in the area. Saman is such an amazing host, and he will go out of his way to help you plan your stay and organize trips around to Lipton’s Seat, Horton Plains, waterfalls, or anywhere else. Our stay in Haputale was definitely a highlight of a trip, and we definitely recommend it if you’re looking to stay in a wonderful location that is a lot less touristy than Ella. This guesthouse is a place where you will feel like home, you will be surrounded by some of the best views, and where the hosts will go out of their way to help you. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling, and so were the dinners, homecooked by Saman’s family. We also highly recommend taking a cooking class at the homestay with Saman’s family. This was definitely one of our highlights, as we got to know the family, learn more about Sri Lankan cooking while preparing 5 different curries, and finally enjoy a dinner with our hosts after many hours of cooking and laughter with the family. The entire experience is worth more than what you pay for, and the family will really make your stay unforgettable. Book your stay here, you will not regret it.

I had a very pleasant stay. Kalaiselvi was very helpful and welcoming. She helped me with questions and I was also able to rent a scooter. The room fits the price-performance ratio and I had a beautiful view of the mountains. I would definitely come back again.

Very nice place to stay in Haputale. The view from the balcony in our room was astonishing and the owners were super friendly and helpful. It is roughly a 10-15 minutes walk to the very centre of Haputale, but we preferred this slightly less busy place higher up the road. The price was also very good, so definitely recommended (we stayed for 3 nights).

I loved the location, wich is close to the city center, but at the same time quiet and with an amazing view. We had a room on the top floor with a balcony to sit on and enjoy the view of the hills and valley. My son slept so well. Better than anywhere before in Sri Lanka. Very soft warm blankets and cushions. Musquito nets. Hot shower.

The Woods is a quiet and calm place for those who would like to experience the nature and to get away from a busy lifestyle. There is no TV and limited internet signal which creates a good opportunity to connect with nature and live a simple life. The property is bordering to it's private waterfall which allows us to enjoy the nature in peace. The woods team is very caring. The food is absolutely amazing. Very fresh and some ingredients are picked from the property itself.

Beautiful view with convenient seating in the courtyard. Very quiet and peaceful. Owner has sweet kids and a very friendly wife. I could wash my clothes there for a small fee. Perfectly located on a quiet side street next to an old church. Wonderful charming colonial building, 150 years old (guest house) Walking distance to the centre of town. Nice restaurants and a Buddhist temple nearby. I liked my spacious bathroom a lot. It was very clean. WiFi was also good. I felt very comfortable at this place and could relax very much.

Very nice family and nice guesthouse with beautiful view! It’s very quiet and the family really cares to make you feel at home! Everything is very cheap (food) and the laundry was made fast and good! They also provided us a scooter for a good price and we could drive around, this was one of our best days in Sri Lanka! Thank you!

Excellent location very close to the bus station. It's on the edge of the hill and has very good views. The Guest house is run by a really sweet and friendly couple. Good English is spoken. Nice outdoor sitting area on both floors. I had the cheapest room which was clean and small but cozy and had a private bathroom. There is a variety of rooms, some even with private furnished balconies with an excellent view. There's a restaurant downstairs, and oh yeah, the lady can cook. Excellent food. Cold beers available too

Absolutely stunning views. The grounds are fantastic. The house is so elegant. Nice hot shower. No need for a/c. Charming hostess. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend.
