After 10 days backpacking around Sri Lanka, Maritime Nest was the perfect place to relax for a few quiet days. The cabanas are newly built, well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The gardens and pool are delightful and the food at Panchi restaurant is excellent. The breakfasts, in particular, are delicious and plentiful. Most importantly we were made to feel very welcome and were looked after extremely well. Madura, his family and great team of staff were fabulous hosts. Madura made helpful suggestions for local sights and activities and was always responsive to our queries. We particularly enjoyed visiting the local Turtle Sanctuary, a mindful and ethical way to experience these amazing creatures. The beautiful almost deserted beach can be reached via a short track and, whilst the sea is too rough for swimming, there is a delightful rock pool nearby. Very highly recommended.​ Thank you to Madura and his team of staff - we wish you every success with your new business.

One of the best experiences in Sri lanka trip within 3 weeks. Amazing place, not only appartment but all Rekava. Definately one of the most underrated places in Sri lanka. If you are in doubts - you definately should go there. Peace, silence, nature, ocean, turtles, amazing people - this is Rekava. Lookout lodge is excelent accomodation - new house, all clean and comfy, perfect location near the beach and turtle watch center. Good restaurant nearby (reccomended by Chami). Excelent breakfast and peacefull conversations with owner. We felt like home there and all our wishes were fulfilled with smile. And - there is a pool now - we where the first users and it is great. Appriciated by our boys. Sorry that we booked just 2 nights there, would have liked to stay at least a couple more days. Beautiful setting a few minutes walk from one of many local lagoons with diverse bird life. It is only 2 rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs, so it's great for a calm and private experience. That said Don and Mala were very responsive and helpful. They even let us use the kitchen at the back of the property to cook prawns bought at Tangalle fish market. Very clean and comfortable stay. Thank you!

This place is so remote and peaceful! You can hear the sound of rolling waves, birds and other animals. No beach bars and human sound around. The beautiful cabanas are well hidden under shady trees. The room was spacious the bathroom has an open shower. We, that’s me and my two young daughters, were the only guests. The host took us to the turtle beach at night where we spend some hours spotting two huge greenback turtles digging holes and disposing their eggs. This was a unique beautiful experience. We were all alone there. He works for the conservation center as an official guide. Groups consist of dozens of people normally. Finally the dinner (classical Sri Lankan rice and curry) and breakfast were delicious. Kids loved it. I would definitely recommend this place.

    A lovely, helpful family host this new homestay. Great location only 2 mins walk to the wonderful Mawella beach. Our room was large and well equipped with air-conditioning, fan and mosquito net. There is a small private patio area outside the room and a larger shared terrace with a comfy sofa. Wonderful breakfasts made freshly each morning. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for making us feel at home.

    Amazing place - the best I found in Sri Lanka ! Great hosts, - Supun & the team were fabulous ! delightful breakfasts, hot shower, ac that works ! your own kettle, mosquito nets, great location 2 mins to beach and all restaurants yet quiet and beautiful 🪴 garden Stay here if you can ! I can not recommend it enough !

    This is like a boutique hotel and you are treated like royalty by Dumi and staff. They really want you to have the best stay. The food was very tasty, always three courses and presented so nicely. Facilities like WiFi, hot shower, huge bedroom, big private balcony and garden. All fab. We stayed more than originally planned because it was such a luxury ✨️
