I booked a superior chalet for one night at Green Sapphire Holiday Resort this year in January. I was doing an early morning safari at Wilpaththu the next day, and the resort made for a great stopover. My chalet was large, super clean, and they let me extend my check out time so I could have a shower after the safari. The packed breakfast was not gourmet food, but made for a welcome meal inside Sri Lanka's most beautiful game reserve.

Still under construction but did not affect our stay. Great location as it is only 10 mins to the national park entrance. But it is a fair way from anything else. We had the plunge pool room and it was perfect. Clean, comfy beds and spacious! Staff were helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so kind to us for the 2 nights. We would like to give a special mention to Johann who cooked our meals which were all so tasty and plentiful. He also provided tea throughout the day. The room was clean and a good size. There was a mosquito net for the bed. The outdoor area was lovely. We sat out there for all of our meals and tea. The wifi worked well which was great as the data around wilpattu was poor. We booked a full day safari through our stay, which was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Wilpattu.

This is a very private, hidden-away location in walking distance to the National Park. In fact, you can't get closer by staying anywhere else--and this means you save time by getting to sleep in during the morning. The host and owner, Leel, doesn't speak much English, but uses Google Translate to always help. The rooms have the best A/C, and with only a few bedrooms on the property, it's very private and great for bird-watching. Simple, efficient, and relaxing.

Right next door to the park gate, lovely lady that owns it. It pretty basic but pretty cheap at the same time. I would stay again for sure
