Giannie, the host, was incredible. She took great care of us during our stay and then went above and beyond afterwards. We had mistakenly packed a couple of their towels which she came to collect from the next hotel we stayed at. She organized an airport transfer at a much better rate than our next hotel offered. When our next hotel couldn't arrange a babysitter she found one. And, lastly, when our son left his small suitcase in the taxi that we took to the airport, she arranged to get it back and hold it at Villa Vintana until we returned again. Gracious and cheerful from start to finish. The common areas are limited, but they make the best of them--some board games, games for the kids, TV and lounge area. And they organized tours at a much better rate than other hotels. Food and drink prices were also better value than other restaurants or hotels we went to.

This is one of the loveliest hotels we have ever stayed in - we were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves, which really added to the magic and tranquility. Gerard, the GM, was very attentive but not over bearing. We didn’t realise quite how in Lokobe Nature Reserve it was. We saw a sportive lemur on our first night in the hotel grounds and the common black lemur the next day. Completely wild; not fed by the staff. The infinity pool over looking the jungle/sea is so special. The hotel felt wild and in nature but at the same time super clean and welcoming. The food was delicious, one or two options only but every meal we had was delicious and very good value. Simple breakfast but was enough for us. Really just a fantastic stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

we had a very large room right on the beach with a terrace with table and chairs and deck chairs! it was furnished and decorated with lovely African touches! the bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water and a fan! the whole property was kept spotless by the wonderful friendly staff! Patrique and his lovely wife and team were so welcoming and we felt right at home having breakfast on the balcony overlooking the sea. Patrique was so helpful with local information and any questions you may have. There is a kitchen to use which is well equipped and very clean too! There are a few eating options in the area and you are right in the little village too (but it is very quiet!) We did not want to leave but sometimes you just have to move on! A great budget option! Thank you Patrique and all at Villa Mena!

Bungalows/cabins surrounded by mango trees provide views of picturesque sunsets on the sea. Meals in the local restaurant vary periodically and cater to different preferences. The staff are outgoing and helpful. Trips can be discussed and tailored on the spot, and pick-up from the airport is reliable in spite of delayed flights. The place to stay for a week or more.

Beautiful view from the balcony. The host Felicia was very nice and kind, she prepared us breakfast on the balcony every morning and cleaned our room. Location is great if you have activities in Nosy Be. Great restaurants nearby.
