Everything was great, the tour to meet the pink dolphin, the Indigenous community and the beach. I loved the experience of the jungle and the bathroom? Blow my mind! I loved it

You don’t get the concentration of wildlife to spot as you do in the Pantanal. But what you do get is an immersion in how people live in the Amazon rainforest, as well as some incredible spots. There’s a lot of laughter and fun, rain, sun, river dolphins, caiman, macaques, sloths, amazing bird life, fruits of all shape and sizes, boat trips along the river, sunset swims, walks through the rainforest, piranha fisbing, kayaking, meeting people who live here, the school boat, manioc production, and Lola the parrot. Highlights were seeing huge blue butterflies fluttering across the water, sleeping in hammocks under mosquito nets in the rainforest, and the house caipirinhas.

We hired a brilliant English speaking guide and a boat pilot for the week through the lodge (additional to the accommodation costs) and they organised an itinerary to tour the local area and beyond. The food was great and varied (beef/chicken/pork/fish etc), including local fish that we caught in the day. It was amazing to live in the riverside community if only for a week, and we hope to come back in the wet season when the water is higher and the landscape has changed.

This neat and very well looked after jungle lodge is not only beautiful and authentic but also safe in the sense of bad surprises by snakes or spiders due to intelligent planting. Everything is done for the comfort and authentic jungle experience of the guests - only 5 chalets although they have space for very much more. I will never forget bathing in the beautiful stream which becomes a river in winter. The food was amazing and the tours very personal and intimate. However the best thing about this lodge is the owner, Alexandre, whose has a big heart for the animals and nature surrounding him. He agreed not only to feed the starving neighbors dog, but came up with the idea of taking that poor dying animal to his beautiful lodge, to feed it and even provide medical care. This is what we did on my last day - we went to the neighbor and brought the thinnest dog which wouldn't even move to his lodge, we washed it, fed it and provided first help for its damaged skin and open wounds. Alexandre is a very special person with a big big heart - God bless him and give him strength and power to help and care for those who so badly need it. My stay was an unforgettable, unique and beautiful experience - I will definitely be back to check on the rescued dog, who we renamed Mariposa, meaning a big brown butterfly in indigenous language and spend more time in this beautiful place.

At the guest house, units are equipped with bed linen and towels. It's a cozy place in a good location. We stayed in two different rooms because we extended our stay. One had a lot more space but the bathroom was outside the room. The other one (junior suite) was smaller but still comfortable enough for us. The host was quite helpful and reasonable and answered our questions quite promptly. The location is very good, right next to the Amazon theater and close to many food places for different budgets. The kitchenette doesn't have a stove but there is a microwave, electric kettle, some other equipment and teas and small snacks as well. We found it more than good enough for some simple breakfast. Overall, a really great stay in a cozy place in a nice location.
