Nonie was hospitable and made us feel welcome and comfortable. the property was seriously beautiful and we loved the bathroom. Dale our dog loved it too! Would definitely return great value.

Quiet country setting only 5 minutes from town with fewer guests for a homey atmosphere. The owners were on site and spent time talking to us about things to do and the history of the area. Michelle (the owner) thought of everything - water in the fridge, cups plates and napkins and cutlery, and mosquito repellant so we could sit outside at night, the treats from the local bakery were an added touch. Would definitely stay there again.

Alain and Denise have been great hosts and gave us a lot of useful tips and information including a small live concert for breakfast.

The service was impeccable; the room immaculate and comfortable. Really enjoyed breakfast in the lovely dining room. It reminded me a bit of my childhood with the blue plates and other touches of home on the wall and hearth. Thank you.

We had an incredible sunset. There is everything you need in the camping car and the owner was really nice.

We were in Room 7 and we loved all of the little touches that just go the extra mile even down to the charging docks for multiple devices, excellent in room coffee and complementary snacks. The room was beautifully appointed and we loved that there was laundry facility available.

Clean, comfortable, great beds, great shower, really good food in the pub (far superior to most pub offerings). It was a place where locals and visitors are made to feel welcome. The owners and staff were switched-on and friendly. I was impressed with how hard they worked and how well they listened and accommodated out-of-the-ordinary requests. I would highly recommend The Groundswell. / Two add-ones: the large deck attached to the pub with a waterfront view was lovely. The huge lawn stretching right down to the water would be a great place for children to play.

Beautiful Inn, Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is a must. Uisge Bàn Falls Provincial Park close by and a great hike. We also went to The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh to enjoy traditional Cape Breton fiddle music, song and dance.
