The hostel feels super inviting right from the start. Located on a dead-end street with free public parking nearby, it's incredibly convenient. Rooms and the terrace are both surprisingly spacious and well-equipped. Everything is sparkling clean too. The whole place has this cool maritime theme, like a big ship, which is quite charming. Location-wise, it can't be beat. Super close to all the amazing beaches but also shopping, dining and bar-hopping in the area. To top it off, they even have a delicious little breakfast with good coffee and fresh juices, even though it wasn't advertised anywhere. Considering the price, location, and overall experience, this place deserves a perfect 10/10. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable stay in San José.

The rooms with sea view do not have a kitchen, but include a fridge. The room was great with an amazing view of the ocean and marina. It's a short walk to San Jose Beach and restaurants, shops, etc. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Large room with sea view, amazing breakfast, hotel comfortable and peaceful. Angelique is wonderful, she makes the stay even better! All in all a great place to relax and unwind.

Merche drove us to start of a lovely cliff walk which we really appreciated. Room was spotless, very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious- home cake & jams and lovely coffee. The Hostal El Dorado is in a quiet area at the foot of the mountains. San José is set within the beautiful Cabo de Gata Natural Park, in the province of Almería. Almería Airport is only 25 kilometres away. ​ We loved that the room had a terrace offering a spectacular sea view. The bed was so comfortable, ensuring we had a fantastic night's sleep. A great detail was the small, quiet fridge. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the hostel also had a nice pool. The room was tidy and the location was perfect: it was quiet, not far from the main street, and its position on the hill provided a beautiful panoramic view.
