Offering a bar and garden view, The Agents House, Bed & Breakfast is set in Hay-on-Wye, 3.9 km from Clifford Castle and 5.9 km from Kinnersley Castle. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the bed and breakfast free of charge. In good weather, guests are welcome to sit outside. The property is absolutely stunning with Victorian Charm and quite a lot of history. Our room was large and inviting with coffee, tea, biscuits, a rain shower, and every amenity you could imagine. Fiona, James, and their pets were as inviting as they come. We felt like family for the evening. The breakfast was divine. Everything about this property blew us away and the price was quite reasonable as well.

The units at the inn come with a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. The Ancient Briton provides certain units with mountain views, and all rooms are fitted with a kettle. The Ancient Briton was one of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our 2.5-week trip through the UK. The staff, rooms, food, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The building is old but tastefully refurbished. While some stairways are narrow and dim (a bit of a challenge with luggage), the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and even featured unique plaster ceiling designs that gave them real character. The staff was outstanding. The woman who managed breakfast each morning (I wish I remembered her name) was especially wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of local tips. Thanks to her, we discovered the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The pub downstairs is lively and welcoming, with excellent food and a friendly mix of locals. It does get busy in the evenings, but even as a party of six, we were always accommodated.

At the bed and breakfast, each unit comes with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. Additional in-room amenities include chocolates or cookies. The units will provide guests with a outdoor furniture and a kettle. Very warm and friendly welcome. Room was very comfortable, clean, good facilities and spacious. Nice view of canal from window. Good selection for breakfast. You were not left feeling hungry. We came for a wedding so did not have a chance to fully explore the area but we were able to walk along the canal in the evening before wedding to a village for a meal in a lovely country pub. We would certainly book again and use cottage as a base to explore the area. It's literally a short drive from Brecon town itself. Excellent value for money
