He suggested both the Caffè San Marco (beautiful) and Ristorante Bianco with its canalside setting...I had great eating experiences at both. And great advice about getting the #6 bus to Miramare castle rather than the train. Thank you Fulvio! I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever lucky enough to visit beautiful Trieste again.

I loved the clear communication with the hosts. A 20% discount at the restaurant Tomasseo was a grand gesture, and the food and wine served were excellent. We love Trieste in every sense; it is a city where history still whispers, making it an entirely cosmopolitan place. I am saying that because Cafe degli Specchi, where breakfast is served, is one of those places where you feel that vibe. Excellent stay; if available again, it would definitely be our choice.
