She also prepared a fresh breakfast (we appeared one morning at 10.20 and she had prepared a small soupe and sandwiches- so thoughtful!). We can only fully recommend the guesthouse.

The onsen facilities were amazing, though we found the private onsen was less hot than the gendered ones (probably the people before us added a bunch of cold??) and yes, no issues with tattoos (which is true for most of beppu). big bonus is the huge kitchen lounge available for guests and the front end cafe where you can buy cookies, VEGAN ICECREAM (sweet potato!) beers, drinks, etc.
