They were very helpful recommending restaurants. The breakfast is very tasty. We got to taste their home made apple jam from locally grown apples. Yummy! We also tried the onsen at a hotel nearby. We walked to and from the Monkey Park. The hike up was warm, but still manageable. We found a hot footbath along the way in a neighbouring village.

Besides serene mountains in the heart of nature and amazing snow conditions within walking distance from the retreat, the food is THE highlight. Hot pots, authentic new Japanese food experiences served with every eye for detail, was an amazing add-on! Not to forget the Onsen experiences after a full day of skiing; a true retreat for body and mind. We will come back every year!!!
