The accommodation is really beautiful and the host was very nice. It didn’t feel like being traveling but more like being welcomed by family. The rooms are in a traditional style and the futon was super comfy. The only downside was, that the place is located far out of Akita, but if you travel by car or don’t mind of taking the bus and walk through along some fields (f you travel with a backpack) it is definitely worth a stay.

I love how the space feels like coming back home, the owner is really kind, funny and I enjoy talking with him and other travelers. We sat all together and had some fun.time. The room I stayed in was a dormitory, the futon mattress was comfortable. I enjoyed the location as well. Even though it's a 30 min walk to the station, it's a really historical area and you will enjoy walking around. I highly recommend it!.

The host was super friendly! It had a homely feel and I felt very comfortable here. We also had a BBQ together on the front deck!

Cozy place in rural area 1 station away from Ichinoseki town. Everything was excellent! Even the bath - there was already the tub with hot water to relax in. Also enjoyed the breakfast Futons are comfortable and warm so we could sleep without the heater in the mid November

We spent three wonderful days in Hirosaki, a charming and authentic town that still feels untouched by mass tourism. It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

When visiting Matsushima as a foreigner, this is the only location you should stay overnight because the property's host speaks English fluently, provides you the finest advice on where to go, and is only a hundred meters from the main street.

Το Minpaku Hiraizumi είναι ένα κατάλυμα με κήπο και βεράντα. Είναι σε Hiraizumi, σε απόσταση 2,3 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Ναός Chusonji, 5,5 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Ναός Takkoku... Minpaku Hiraizumi is fantastic. Location is less than 10mins from Hiraizumi station and everything in the town is within walking distance, except for Takkoku-no-iwaya for which you can try public transportation or rent a bike near the station. The house is traditional Japanese but with modern amenities super nice and very comfortable. Room is spacious with an AC, remote controlled lights and a very comfortable futon bed. The couple living there is lovely and of a rare kindness, truly embodying Japanese hospitality. When I stayed there it rained all day and they game me a lift to Takkoku-no-iwaya by car, patiently waiting for me visiting the location. They prepare an amazing homemade traditional breakfast and were nice to chat with as well, available for anything I neeced. My time there was short but I can't recommend this place enough if you're in Hiraizumi.

Το Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte που διαθέτει κήπο, μπαρ και εστιατόριο, βρίσκεται σε Zao Onsen. It’s easy to go skiing or snowboarding. The lift is just next to the hotel. The hotel owner is kind and funny. I have a great experience here.

The hotel located right next to Zuishinmon so it’s very easy to hike Mt.Haguro from this location and also close to bus stop as well. The room is traditional Japanese room with futon and also air conditioner. The place has a shared bathroom and washroom. The food was very delicious. I had a very pleasant stay despite it was raining for two days straight. The lady who runs the hotel is also very helpful and kind towards a foreigner like me. Very recommended for people who would like to experience proper Japanese stays.
