It is a little bit off the beaten path but easy enough to find with GPS.

This was my favorite stay during my trip! Surrounded by the countryside, this 280 years old house has all the charms of its age, but still reasonably modern amenities. The staff is especially friendly, helpful, and welcoming. And you can get amazing home-cooked meals too! If you want to go out of the beaten path and explore the rural side of Japan, this is absolutely the best place!

The property is nice and cozy, walk a little (approximately 6mins) from the Ofunato line mataki station. The day I’m arrived the ofunato line was suspended til the evening but the host is very nice and helpful, he picked us up and drove us to the ichenoseki station on the checked out day. Though the host isn’t fluent in English, he trying to communicate and help us in anything he’s incredibly good!!

There is only one shower in the facility, so there is a booking system to reserve your shower slot.
