La Casetta was very conveniently located to the center of town and just one street away from the beach. The rooms were basic, but had everything we needed, including a mini-fridge, a microwave, and an electric kettle. The rooms only came with hand soap but luckily we brought our own shampoo and body wash so it was not an issue. Hands down the best part of our stay was Buks, the owner. As two women travelers driving in Namibia, we asked his advice about safety, safe areas and dining locations. He even let us know about the local custom of tipping official parking attendants which we were unfamiliar with because it does not exist in the US. After leaving Swakopmund, we also inquired about the safest refueling stations on our drive to Otjiwarongo, which was very helpful.

Excellent attention, delicious food, beautiful modern rooms. Christa is a warm and welcoming host. The waterhole in front of our room was great entertainment with all the animals that went there to drink. The game drive was a lot of fun. Peaceful and beautiful.
