Shuttle service is available only from the airport to the property, upon request and for a surcharge. Quiet location close to Plaza de Armas, clean & comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. On a previous one night stay, I had posted about not being able to get change for taxi. The hotel approached me on my return stay to explain the reasons and to offer something in return. I appreciated the hotel’s efforts to explain and remedy, and although I did not take up the offer, it shows a very good attitude.

In Cusco´s San Blas art district, Amaru Inca is set in a colonial house with internal patio and garden, featuring scenic views. Accommodation includes private bathroom, free WiFi on common areas and buffet breakfast is served daily. Great location. Breakfast was simple but very nice. Bed is comfortable.

Featuring mountain views, Refugio de Mery Lucmabamba offers accommodation with a garden and a terrace, around 19 km from Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. This bed and breakfast is 19 km from Manuel Chavez Ballon Museum. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Huayna Picchu is 17 km away. What a fantastic place. Yes it is a little hike up a hill, but we were received with warmth from the owners and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Three of us stayed in the refugios, and our two camping mateswithout a booking were given a safe place to pitch a tent. The rooms were extremely comfy, with many blankets and had an emsuite bathroom with endless hot water. Outside the room is a lovely balcony with massage rollers, exactly what was needed this stage in the trek. The food was the best food I have had on salkantay, very veg and vegan friendly. There are coffee tours on site and a little store that sells the cheapest bread and fresh fruit/veg.when we left Mery gave us all Oreos and a banana for the road.
