The rooms are spotless, with tasteful decor and thoughtful touches throughout. Everything is maintained to the highest standard, reflecting a clear passion for hospitality. Villa Kounzo also helps you make the most of your time—they recommend great daytime activities and are happy to order excellent takeaway meals from nearby restaurants if you're staying in for the evening. The on-site bar is another highlight, offering cold, reasonably priced drinks including soft drinks, beer, and wine—a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring. Villa Kounzo is far more than just a place to stay—it’s a haven of comfort, great food, and genuine hospitality where you feel like home. I left feeling completely recharged and already planning my return. Highly recommended!

Een oase van rust als je arriveert in een mooi kader. Een prachtige natuurlijke tuin en een hartelijke verwelkoming door Céline en Gilles die je direct thuis doen voelen. Doudou, de gids, is heel bekwaam en heeft ons de mooiste plaatsen laten zien tijdens de begeleide tochten die je aangeboden worden, overzichtelijk in een welkomsboekje. De excursies die wij gemaakt hebben, bird isle, kajakken door de mangroves, wandeltocht langs rivier en bezoek aan plaatselijke markt waren stuk voor stuk de moeite en fijn om te weten dat je door hun ngo er tevens ook de lokale bevolking mee steunt. Tot slot een hele dikke dankjewel aan de kok! Als je 'avonds met hun mee-eet, wat optioneel is, word je culinair verwend in een superlekker driegangen menu.

B & B Mariamacounda is gelegen in Toubakouta met uitzicht op het zwembad en heeft een restaurant, een excursiebalie, bar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!
