After staying at Kalappura homestay and talking to the owner Jose, I booked his houseboat trip too. His offer was a good deal for a solo traveler. The boat trip was very nice. The captain and the cook were friendly and helpful. I felt like a king on the boat. What I liked the most was that Jose made sure I also saw the local side of Alleppey. We took local buses (I wouldn't do that myself) to a local market to buy food for the boat trip.

Staying at Taras Houseboat in Alleppey was an incredible experience! Exceptional boat and experience! We have been traveling with a family of 5, so we booked a 3-bed room suite which turned out to be an entire boat! We had dinner and breakfast served there, so we could enjoy the beauty of the surrounding while floating. Very beautiful. We were on the upper deck. Large and clean. Boat is still new. Staff is also very friendly and professional. Subrata pal. Sidhart pal, Aniskumar are also great people and they are also very friendly.
