Space, price, free parking. If you need a bed in a spacious room that's reasonably priced then this place will do. We used it as a base for MotoGP. If you are looking for all the facilities like pools, slides, spas etc DO NOT BOOK!!!

Mashiko is frequently done as a day trip from Tokyo, but I found spending a few days was more rewarding.  Honestly, as a tourist, I'm not a big fan of Tokyo anyway. Mori-no Gardens provides a comfortable stay in a country house just outside the small town of Mashiko.  Within walking distance; however, the proprietess, Yuriko, will also transfer you by car in the morning and  afternoon.  A wonderful town to walk around in and explore (pottery and antique shops, rice fields, temples, sake)-- do not miss the Hamada museum. I am vegetarian and I highly recommend her Japanese home style cooking, a delicious variety of offerings you probably will not find in restaurants.   One of my best and inspiring experiences in Japan this trip, so grateful.  Please arrange a meal plan when you book, as you cannot simply show up and ask for dinner-- that is not possible. I look forward to returning, a marvelous time.

Quaint hotel straight out of the past with cute artwork. Staff amazing, nothing too much trouble, arranged a hire car to site see around Mashito. Food amazing also with traditional Japanese food and service. Even had massage chair in room and arranged a excellent shiatsu massage for my partner.

The house is big with many rooms and beds. It’s a bit old. The twin hot baths are in a separate room. We could not find the light and heater in that room. These twin hot baths cannot be used after 9:30pm. The time restriction limits the number of people who can enjoy it, especially if you have BBQ which has to be finished by 9pm. The place outside the house where you have BBQ is not well decorated.
