This was our first time staying in a bee house – a place where your bed is directly over beehives and built in a way that even upon just opening the door you are wrapped tightly in the smell of honey and beeswax. The humming-buzzing of the bees make for a uniquely relaxing experience as you fall into what is likely one of the best nights of sleep you could enjoy. Andrej is not only one of the warmest hosts but also one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to apitherapy and Slovenian beekeeping tradition. This was the best way we could kickstart our first time visiting this nature-blessed country, and it guaranteed that this wouldn't be our last.

A good location for a relaxing stay in Škofljica, Gostilnica Orle - Sleeping in the tower is a guest house surrounded by views of the mountain.

Very nice location close to Ljubljana yet still in the countryside. At the bottom of an observation tower with amazing views and part of a complex with an excellent and well priced restaurant serving very generous portions.

29 km from Ljubljana Castle in Višnja Gora, Cowboy's Land offers accommodation with access to a steam room. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking.
