A great location in the midst of nature, detached from others. Great view from the room and from the terrace, fresh air. Located between Malang and Bromo, so it is very convenient to go from the ecolodge to the Bromo tour. Scooters can be only rented on Malang, better to take minumun 120cc if you want to travel around, for example, to Sewu waterfall. Gojek works, but in the evening there maybe problems to get one, get a car in advance or ask the owner. The owners btw are very very cool and helpful! Thank you for helping us out!!!! Prepare warm clothes and socks.

Lovely home stay, comfy beds, very helpful and kind owner. He told us of all the options to visit Mount Bromo (one could book the tour directly via the owner) and we ended up staying at Brak for 2 nights and doing the Mt Bromo trip directly from Probolinggo. We pre-ordered a Gojek (like Grab) at 2 am for 250k, the driver drove us to Cemorolawang, we did the hike and everything, had breakfast in Cemorolawang, then came back to Probolinggo. We can back with the same driver, but one can easily also use the shared minivans, it is easy to get from Cemorolawang to Probolinggo during the day. When we came back, the owner greeted us with tea and we had a good rest. Doing Mt. Bromo from Probolinggo is easy and less tiresome, we’re happy we chose this way! I can only recommend this guesthouse, this was Indonesian hospitality at its best that we experienced.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner - the hosts wife makes tasty food. The host Hadi organizes very interesting 2 days 1 night Turtle tour, no need to book the room for that night! Annie and Yati were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed meeting there family and the rooms were clean. We had jackfruit pancakes for breakfast with fresh watermelon which was delicious. The neighborhood felt safe and everyone was friendly. We walked around and tried local food. The streets can get busy but everyone was so nice and saying hello as they went by. We did the Ijen tour through them with a group of 5. We had planned to do it alone but when we compared the cost going with a group it was much more affordable. Especially because they make you go up with a guide now. The group size was not too big either. We saw some groups of over 20 people which I would not recommend. Incredible experience. We went from night time cold, to hot from hiking, to cold, to fog, to rain, to the most incredible view we have EVER seen. Our favourite thing in Bali. Even the walk back down was incredible. You also could come later in the day to miss the crowds. The blue luminescent light from the lava has not been working since an eruption in Jan. They take you for sunrise, but we barely saw it because of fog and honestly if you see Bromo sunrise this is nothing in comparison. I would go mid morning, because it get too hot but you miss the crowds and see the real blue of the crater.

(They lent us water shoes for Tumpak Sewu and even threw some cushions in the car for our long drive) Breakfast was made after our Sunrise at Mt Bromo despite us being a few hours late for breakfast. If you’re in Malang, stay here!!!

The room was very big and lovely furnished. You have a big and wonderful pool with places with and without shade. The meals were delicious and the owner helpful all time long.
