Waking up to rice fields and mountain views, what more could you wish for?

Great place to stay close to Padang and Mentawai. The room is very comfortable. AC works well. Breakfast is delicious. The area is surrounded by rice fields and it’s very beautiful to walk around for the sunset. Dila is very kind and welcoming. She borrowed us her scooter to go to the city center and she advised us on few restaurants and cafes. And we also had a chance to spend a day together. Dila showed us around Padang .. beautiful waterfall, jungles hike. The place is calm and we had a good rest. Totally recommend!

We spent 3 nights in the Villa. We were extremely well received by the manager "Dady Cool" and his team. Everyone is kind, friendly and caring!!! They are available at any time of day to help you with anything! We also went for a jungle trekking that was just amazing ! I totally recommend booking activities with them ! For the villa, you'll find everything you need in your room (and if something missing, they will do their best to help) On top of that, the breakfast and the whole dining menu are really delicious. Don't hesitate to eat there, you won't regret it Thanks again to all the team for the amazing moments we spent there !

Το Jhony's Backpacker-Guest House only stay here book treking with us, που διαθέτει κήπο και εστιατόριο, βρίσκεται σε Bukit Lawang. We booked with Jhony for our jungle trekking to see orangutans. It was the best decision ever! We saw orangutans and gibbon and long tail monkeys. The entire experience was great, the best food, great itinerary, where we stayed was very comfortable, and to end all the rafting was super super fun. Everything beat our expectations and it was all for a very fair price. Jhony was a great tour guide and so was his younger tour guide in training Lana who will be a guide next year. Lana was fantastic and super great with us and of course Jhony was too. Thank you so much to you both and we will definitely recommend you. If you’re coming to Bukit Lawang definitely book your tour with Jhony!

The location overlooking the river from your balcony is amazing. The room is basic but for the prize it is fantastic value. Apart from the fantastic view you get a super comfy bed, a big mosqito net (without holes :-), a bathroom and toilet (cold water), a fan and WIFI in the room - which I was not expecting. But above all Alex and his family are exellent hosts and you feel very velcome. Alex arranged transport for me to and from Bukit Lawang. I would really recommend this transport (shared tourist taxi) and of course the main thing: Alex arranged a two day trek for me. It vas amazing with lots of wild life including orangutans.

The owner and staff are super kind and welcoming. The apartment was so functional--I can see why it can also be rented long-term. Favorite thing was probably the hammock and view of the lake, as well as the convenience of the vegetarian restaurant!

Το Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa είναι σε Bukit Lawang και έχει κήπο, βεράντα, μπαρ καθώς και δωρεάν WiFi. Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans during the trek and also a few monkeys. Trek is tough and it's goes uphill and downhill. One ought to be fairly fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa.

The Bungalows are really comfortable, there is free water and tea and the sea view is amazing. Also the food at the restaurant is super tasty and all the staff are very nice. Borja gave us a lot of tips what to do on the island, which was really helpful.
