We stayed at Mangetsu room and it was amazing. The room is very clean and equipped with everything I need. The outdoor onsen is open air but still very private, it's totally recommended for couple. Staffs were very helpful and kind too. One more thing, don't turn away just because you see they don't serve dinner or breakfast in room. They do it with purpose that you will get the best view when you are eating. We wished we can stay longer and will come back someday.

And again owners where super nice 🙃 and had good tips for things to do in the area. (Also located at a walking distance to supermarket, restaurants, hells of beppu and onsen 🛀). Place was also good value for money

The food and service were exceptional. It was really great to have some prepared food and some to cook ourselves. All fresh and delicious. Good location with beautiful views. Very relaxing and loved some of the smaller activities available. Room was the perfect size and great setup for the views and with bathroom and eating area.

The property was beautiful and close to town. The host was very accomodating and helpful. He was also happy to collect me from the train station and transport me back to town on the day I checked out.

And the onsen was really nice and could be locked (just like a bathroom). The washing machine was also very good. When we arrived there was nobody around, so we sent a message via Booking and 10 minutes later our host appeared. She was so nice and offered us green tee with Japanese sweets during the afternoon. She also prepared a fresh breakfast (we appeared one morning at 10.20 and she had prepared a small soupe and sandwiches- so thoughtful!). We can only fully recommend the guesthouse.

Kunisaki peninsula has so many beautiful pilgrimage trails, I would recommend this place for anyone who is interested to explore Kunisaki peninsula. Also only 30min by car to the famous Beppu area. Will definitely come back!
