Firstly we had such a warm welcome by the host when we arrived. The room and private shower room was really nice and very clean. The bed was so comfortable. The air con in the room was great too! Shower was powerful which we loved especially after a long hike doing the fisherman’s trail. There was a small kitchen area to use a fridge and to make teas and coffees. This was great for the morning before we set off on our hike. This was the best place we stayed on the entire trail!

The service was excellent! the hostess, mrs Gaspar, was really kind to us and made our stay at a Espera the most memorable experience we will ever have in Portugal. We will hopefully visit this wonderful place again.

By far my most favourite place I’ve stayed at in Portugal — after a long day hiking Fernando pulled out all the goods with wine on arrival and a super slick stay. Breakfast next day was beyond, more like a cafe than a hotel breakfast. Can’t wait to visit again!
