It's like sleeping in the rainforest, but dry and comfortable and with bug netting! Staff are wonderful, we felt right at home, and the food is so yummy and healthy! So many frogs!! And the birds!!!! We keep coming back and will again!!!

Location was great, close to everything that I had booked. Very good communication, quick replies. The manager/owner went out of his way to come by the property with a card reader for payment. He then suggested a few options for excursions.

Birds and breakfast has everything a naturalist can dream of: a beautiful and active garden with lots and lots of bird species visits; many reference wildlife books from birds, mammals, reptiles…; great location not only for the stunning view but also for being next to the quiet area of Children's Eternal Forest; spotting scopes and binoculars available for birdwatching and very cozy elegant rooms and 24/7 coffee/tea bar. Jay and Nohelia were amazing - we couldn't have asked for more. They cooked incredible food in the morning for breakfast which you can eat whilst watching the wildlife and there is also the option to eat in the evening. They gave us brilliant recommendations to see things in the area and were genuinely one of the nicest couples & hosts we have ever met! The location is a bit off road so bring a 4x4 but once you are there, it's peaceful and beautiful. The room we had was well equipped and clean. 100% would recommend!!

Owners Giovanni and Luis are not just hosts; they are true ambassadors of hospitality. Kind and dedicated professional who truly care for their customers, who feel at home right away, and for their place, and who are also committed to protect local wildlife and maintain the surroundings impeccably. San Rafael is a very special place, sited at a rainforest, which makes it unique. Rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is delicious! Muchas, muchas gracias, Giovanni and Luis. No question I will be back!

This 2-bedroom house was absolutely perfect for our family with two kids! We give it a perfect 10 out of 10. The host was incredibly friendly, the house was spotlessly clean, everything was in excellent condition, and it was fully equipped with everything we needed. Our son enjoyed the pool whenever he could. We had a wonderful stay and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone!
