We loved our stay at the Cortijo. From the moment of our arrival until our departure, we had excellent communication with the staff. They were warm and welcoming and unobtrusive. We stayed in a Junior Suite and had a large bedroom with an ensuite bathroom equipped with a shower. There was a large bathtub with handheld shower in a separate multi-use room. We were located on one side of a back patio across from another hotel room. What struck us most was that we never felt like we were surrounded by other guests. The location was tranquil and quiet. We rarely saw any other guests except at breakfast time. We loved that the amazing breakfast was part of our stay. There were a wide variety of options for breakfast and it was seemingly unlimited in scope. There was fresh fruit, juices, plenty of pastries, and toasts with many toppings. The breads were fresh and delicious. Coffee was fantastic with options for plant-based milks. The views of the sea were excellent and the distance from town was acceptable. We were able to walk into town for dinner each evening. Overall, this was a great experience and we plan to return. Thank you!

The hotel is beautifully designed with gorgeous rooms, most with balconies and sea views, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast is in the cafe on the ground floor which is very popular with locals and has a great outdoor terrace. Maria who runs Cala Arena, her father, Priscilla in the cafe and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and friendly, you really won't want to leave. And San Jose is a lovely little town with great restaurants - our favourite was La Palmera Mercado, very close to the hotel. And don't forget the stunning beaches - Playa de los Genoveses just south is like Spanish playa's must have been in the 1950's. Also fantastic gym in the basement.
