Due to a canceled ferry to Oban, we arrived 4 hours later than expected at 11.30pm. The owner was very undestanding when we called him, and he received us with a hearty welcome when we eventually arrived! The owner gave us excellent sightseeing tips for the region and for our road trip to Edinburgh!

Shepherd's hut is perfect for couples seeking solitude. Just enough room for your stuff inside the hut, on-site parking, well equipped kitchenette, nicely decorated, comfy beds, clean. There is a barbecue outside. Early in the morning you might be surprised by a deer family grazing in front of the hut. Views from the hut are amazing, especially in sunset. Highly recommend!

We are so glad we chose to stay at Thistle House rsther than take the easy option of staying in one of the bigger hubs around Loch Lomond.. Sue and Avril are the most delightful hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating. Great breakfast. Not to mention their stunning building with its spectacular view back across Loch Fyne. We had to leave before usual breakfast time and they were even able to arrange a lighter earlier breakfast for us before we left. Look no further for your most peaceful stay in this stunning part of Scotland.

    The location and views were fantastic, and the instructions were super clear given that it is a rural location. The bed and bedding were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the layout of the lodge was great. We wish we had more time there to stay in and enjoy the lodge!

    The location is perfect. It was booked for a weekend getaway with friends without children. We loved the quiet location and it has everything we need to relax and enjoy time to enjoy each other company. The photos of the view do not do it justice. Even when it was raining it was spectacular. I would book again for another quiet weekend away.

    The location is next to a lake with a dock that goes out to it. Very pretty scenery. Also enjoyed the coos, but got slightly concerned with their horns when they were checking out our car rental! The living room and bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have big windows overlooking the lake. The kitchen is well equipped and it was nice to have a clothing washer. The main bathroom is really nice and has a good shower.
