This is an excellent local pub in a tiny village - ideal for walking by the Thames or visiting Kemscott House. Dinner was outstanding and breakfast was delightful - poached eggs with smoked salmon or a full English served with a chef's flair. Even the breakfast room had a log fire blazing when we came down! The bedroom was small but well appointed - even had a classic clawfoot bathtub! (ask for room 3). A little out of the way, but ideal if you want to be in that area.

A lovely hidden gem, absolutely beautiful house. The room was really lovely, nice comfy bed and furniture that fitted in with the house - lots of love and care have gone into decoration and furnishings - loved the artwork. If you want a peaceful, comfortable time in a very pretty area, Mayfly Cottage is perfect. It is in the loveliest setting with the river almost at your doorstep surrounded by beautiful trees, birds and various animals both wild and domesticated. Kate and David are a charming, relaxed and helpful couple (their 2 delightful dogs must get a mention), and nothing seemed a bother. The Cottage is small but excellent for solo or a couple, I couldn't have wished for a nicer week.
