Lovely bedroom, big comfortable bed with a firm mattress (unlike many guesthouses where you sleep on a squashy foam mattress in a wooden frame). The house dates back to the 17th century. Fox Cottage was a perfect overnight stop for our return journey from the west coast of Scotland. It was a 5 minutes drive off the M74 with parking for our 2 cars. We loved the Fox theme that ran throughout the cottage and it was warm and cosy. We really appreciated the welcome pack of biscuits, oatcakes, eggs, milk and dog treats! We had a very good fish and chip supper from the Moffat Chippie. Thank you to the very helpful neighbour who came to our rescue when we managed to lock ourselves out on arrival! Would definitely return and recommend. . .
