It was fabulously quirky, excellently equipped, and the decoration was perfect for the property. There was also an amazing breakfast selection. The owners were very friendly and helpful, even acting as a taxi to get us to and from a wedding we were attending. I could not recommend the Jewel in the Crown highly enough.

Nice comfortable apartment in a converted outbuilding in lovely area. We booked this on price and location as we were over for a wedding 2 miles up the road. The wedding venue would have been a reasonable option for a double room but we are a family of 4 and for a bigger room they wanted close to triple the price we paid for cosy cloud and still would have been a much smaller room than we enjoyed at this property. We have never stayed on the grounds of a main property before always opting for hotels and my wife was slightly nervous - she needn't have been. This experience was great, would highly recommend. Key pick up and instructions were very clear with great communication throughout. We were left contact details for the owner incase we needed anything but other than that we didn't even bump into them and were left to our own devices which for us is a big positive. Thanks for having us.

    Really lovely location and view. Comfortable, exceptional hut. Barbara and Angus are a lovely couple and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

    A great lodge, very well equipped with everything you need and even more. Decor is fantastic, very quirky. Spotlessly clean, cosy for two people. Location is great, beautiful view. A great base to explore the Peak District. Easy self check-in. Hosts are very kind. Welcome basket is a nice touch, the cakes and eggs were delicious. Would recommend and return 100%!

    Lovely little property a lot more spacious than you expect. Clean and everything in there that you need. The little welcome hamper was a lovely touch (bread, milk, eggs, tea and coffee etc). Lovely and peaceful, the two local pubs recommended to us by the hosts were both fantastic with great food. They even offered to pick us up if we couldn’t make it back up the hill after a few drinks!! Ideal location for exploring the Peak District. The farmers cows were beautiful as were the dogs, Highly recommend
