Beautiful old wooden house on the Main Street in Narai. Furnished with tatami mat sleeping area and well stocked kitchen. The owner spoke no English but was very helpful and proficient with google translate. She provided several snacks and booked a restaurant for us after explaining that during shoulder season not many places were open in the evening. The best pyjamas of our holiday in Japan!

Beautiful and pretty stream flows and the place is surrounded by mountains and mountains (not high mountains). This place is not only isolated for tourists, but also the place we feel and enjoy the atmosphere mixed with the people who live there. Many neighbors come to here and talk. The dinner and breakfast are quite good. They respect the local foods like Gibier, Mountain vegetables and hand-made-breads and good wines. Shiojiri is one of the most famous Japanese winery places. They serve much of SHIOJIRI special wines.

The best stay we had in Japan, by far. The host is an amazing woman, and she makes you feel right at home. It’s an old building, which was no problem for us. The room itself is extremely spacious, and I never expected the futton beds to be some damn comfy. Had the best sleep ever here! WiFi works amazing, breakfast is delicious, and the location couldn’t be better. Amazing street, with good cafes and restaurants and close to the sights. Definitely will be coming back!

Everything was perfect. A majestic traditional ryokan built by the owner’s granddad. 1000000% recommended.

Very clean and well organized. Pleasing comunal space to chill and super quiet rooms during the night. Also free breakfast and one free drink a day (i did not know that until last day tho :) ). The owner and baristas can give you many recommendations and they talk really nice English. Also many restaurants in the area and a konbini less than 10mins walking.
