The most beautiful and warm guesthouse I have ever stayed in. The common area was particularly great, the windows facing out to the mountains were amazing. No faults at all!!! Shirakawa-go is a small town with nothing much open at night so prepare for that by stocking up at the convenience store. It’s about a 10 min walk away from the guesthouse. There is a very small family-run convenience store that is closer but is cash only (try to go there if you can! The staff are lovely). The staff at the guesthouse were unreal! So helpful from as soon as we arrived. Make sure to book their bus terminal shuttle before you get there, don’t make our mistake and try to do the walk cause it isn’t fun! They were funny, kind and always willing to help with anything at all. This was my favourite place I stayed in through all of Japan and I couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you so much for having us! We’re forever grateful.

The room was beautiful and comfortable, bathroom was perfectly clean and well equipped, the location was ideal and the best part were the hosts: they were extremely kind and friendly, they definitely made the whole stay a tremendous pleasure. They were kind enough to take me to the bus station and also delivered some objects I left behind to me by mail. They were gentle and respectful, and I'm very grateful for their treatment and attention. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The guesthouse has a nostalgic flare, lots of wood, great atmosphere. We had ordered a veggie dinner and breakfast, and all was home made and good. We arrived after dark and after hours of rain on our motorbikes, and the hosts let us dry our gear in the main room which is much appreciated. // Our host also told us about the mountain road ahead which is forbidden for motorcycles. We were gutted but very happy he told us so we could plan our next day accordingly. // I would certainly stay again!

this property is very Japanese style wooden tatami design with friendly owner that will offer to pick u up from the nearby bus stop if u really need the help. I got sick that day when arrive due to very cold snowy weather, the porridge meal owner prepared and the free herbal hot tea really cure me up. I slept whole day on first day of arrival and finally recovered at night time! the view from my room is awesome as well can see the snowy village.

very nice Host that helps you with everything and provides a nice breakfast. there is a good restaurant at 15 minutes walk and very nice onsen at 30 minutes walk.

The hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff are exceptional - the gentleman at the reception who is also driving the shuttle van was very patient with us and made our stay very pleasant. He took very good care of us and made sure we had a taxi picking us up whenever we needed it, explained what we were eating at breakfast, and how to do it properly.
