Wonderful place with wonderful people. The cleanest place we have had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Each of the staff members seemed too good to be true. It was difficult to believe that all those people are so genuinely nice, but they were for sure. Highly highly recommend this place for everyone. In reality it looks exacly like in the pictures or even better.

Breakfast and dinners were fantastic 🥳 Can highly recommend both the devilled fish and fish curry. The design of the bedroom, bathroom and balcony was really tasteful and very well done as bungalow style. The fantastic garden making you feel in a different world was a treat. Not to mention the beach which was less than 500 meter away 🌊. A perfect beach if you like a bit of space, and not overcrowded by tourists and hotels and restaurants sitting on the beach front. The staff were really attentive and nice and Mr Nelson’s helpfulness and care made my stay fantastic. Last thing, I want to emphasize was the cleanliness of the garden and especially my bungalow. Having travelled in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks, living at more than 12 different hotels, La Perla stood out on all parameters.

I'm really demanding person but I was fascinated about this place! Let's Start with location. It's situated about 10 minuts by foot from Aluthgama railway station. It's very convenient when you trevel by train like we. You shouldn't worry about noise because this hotel is on a quiet street near the river. For people who is really in nightlife there are no bars, cafes and parties around this place. Instead of this you can enjoy amazing sunsets and try water activities on the river or fly on a glider over the beach. The hotel is separated from the beach by a river so they give you a free ride to the beach by boat. The beach is sandy, wide and almost deserted. There are no cafes but I saw several sunbeds so probably it could be rented. The coast is quite flat and the ocean depth is shallow, so the place is suitable for children Guest house is pretty small (about 5-6 rooms) and doesn't have a garden where people can walk but we didn't suffer about it. Amazing and welcoming family run it. They helped us with all questions but were not intrusive. We took a river safari excursion from them and did not regret it. We saw monitor lizards, endemic monkeys, small crocodiles, bats and birds. All the time we ate only in this hotel. They provide very tasty and filling breakfasts. We were served scrambled eggs in different forms (scramble, omelet, etc.), yogurt, fruit, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. Besides they have a wide selection of dishes in menu including grilld meet( chiken, beef, porc), sea food, noodles, rice etc. All was available and has affordable price. We stayed in family room on the first floor. It is spacious, bright, extremely clean and fully matches with photo and description. Definitely recommend this hotel and say a huge thank you to this family!

Dear Nishanthi and Wasantha. You are the greatest hosts we’ve ever met! All the credit for our amazing holiday must be given to you as it was the first place we stayed during our travel, and the vibe you shared with us didn’t leave us up to the last day in Sri Lanka. Your attitude is incredible. We felt like being at home. The way you met us the first day (with flower garlands which smelled like heaven), the way you treated us during the stay (ready to help with literally anything we needed) - everything breathed love at your house. Your attitude really exceeds all the expectations. To those who are considering a stay at the place, please, don’t hesitate. This is going to be an eye-opening experience to what a 10 out of 10 is. No, this can’t be 10. We would give the hosts 10 times more if it was possible❤️. As for the cleanliness - it was incredibly spotless. This was the cleanest place we had ever visited throughout all our journeys. As for the breakfasts - oh, this was something unbelievable. Everything was so tasty, served so neatly. And the balcony, where our breakfasts were served, overlooks the lovely garden, so you can see some lovely birds, squirrels and enjoy the sounds of them while having your breakfast. They give you a small bag where you can put whatever you haven’t eaten, so you can take it with you to the beach or put it in the fridge (the room facilities are also provided) and eat it later. Another thing, which is worth mentioning, is the fresh flowers arranged around the room and on the balcony. So the place smelled so fresh, so nice. You can really see that they pay great attention to detail. Regarding the beach, it’s a three-minute walk from the house and you are going to be really surprised in a good way as it is not crowded at all and, as a result, very clean. So you can enjoy your time at the beach with no plastic thrown around it. There are also good cafes along the beach with quite affordable prices.

Our hosts were very caring, offering us tea or coffee in the evening. If you needed a tuk tuk to take you a kilometre or two from the villa, it was free service. The breakfast was a wonderful variety and scrumptious. The room was immaculately clean and had air-con.The short cut to the beach, down an alley and across the railway lines, had us there in 5 minutes. If you get the opportunity, drop in to Tuna Turner, where you can use their pool and sunbeds if you spend 5000slr. They even supply pool towels.

The place is perfect for a short stay as well as for a longer one. We stayed for 2 nights, on Aluth Avurudda(Sinhalese New Year), and we were invited to spend the afternoon with the host and his family. As we were not able to get on time for the celebration, they saved some food for us, and we had it the next day. That said, I only have praise for this place, its host and his family, and Maggi, the dog.

We had an absolutely outstanding stay at Channa Villa Bentota, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Having known Channa for over 10 years and having visited Sri Lanka six times since 1995, I can confidently say that this was one of the best experiences we've had in the country. From the very beginning, the service was impeccable. We were picked up from the airport and returned there at the end of our stay, just as we requested. The transportation was punctual, comfortable, and handled with great professionalism, which made our arrival and departure seamless and stress-free. The guesthouse itself is located just about 200 meters from the beautiful Bentota Beach, it offers easy access to the sea, and the rooms are well-equipped with both a fan and air conditioning, ensuring comfort regardless of the weather. The rooms are clean, cozy, and tastefully decorated, creating a relaxing atmosphere that made us feel right at home. During our stay, we also had the pleasure of being accompanied by Channa on several excursions. He guided us on a memorable tour to Nuwara Eliya, enriching the experience with his extensive knowledge of the region and its culture. His insights made the trip much more meaningful and enjoyable. We also visited the impressive Buduruvagalla Temple, which was a highlight of our trip, made even more special by Channa’s friendly and informative guidance. Additionally, we enjoyed a wonderful boat tour on the Bentota River, where we could relax and take in the stunning natural scenery and peaceful surroundings. Channa’s personal involvement and care truly made these experiences stand out. Beyond the tours, we had the pleasure of dining at the guesthouse, on invitation from Channa. The dinner was excellent—delicious, beautifully prepared, and served in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I intendetd to write some more, but the place in booking is too short.

If you're looking for a hotel Sri Lanka for some rest and relaxation, Villa Thamburu is ideal! The location is great offering easy access to a lovely, quiet beach. The staff great too. All were incredibly polite, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile for us. The food was also a highlight. I can't imagine anywhere else in Bentota could match it. The hotel itself was beautiful too!

Prianthi and Raj were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and the location so close to the beach, a few restaurants (Happy Garden!) and the train station was ideal. And the breakfast was really lovely. I'd definitely recommend the place.
