Our host was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to meet our every want and need. He drove us and picked us up, suggested activities, and helped us out in an emergency when we needed to go to the local hospital. The rooms boast amazing views of the jungle, which is full of fireflies at night. They also have a projector so you can stream entertainment of your choice. 10/10 I strongly recommend Fern Hill cabins for your stay in Ella.

Everything was clean — the bathroom, the room, and the bed. More than anything, the people were so friendly. Even though I was traveling alone, I ended up spending every day having fun with someone. There were lots of restaurants, souvenir shops, and tourist spots within walking distance, which was super convenient. The environment was so nice that it actually made me want to live there!

This is a real gem. We booked the family room and the double room which were both clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The view is just incredible and so relaxing. The scenery in the morning is just amazing when you see and hear all the surroundings waking up. From the start, we were welcome with such a nice friendly atmosphere and they went over their duty to make us happy. We all absolutely loved it and will come back. Staying at this accommodation was the best decision we have made!!! We were welcomed by the most beautiful family, after a long journey. We were able to park our tuk tuk under CCTV which made us feel reassured. We booked all 3 rooms, and they were all incredible. The accommodation was extremely clean, and the rooms are all attached to a balcony with a view of the mountains and lots of birds. The rooms have hot water and REAL beds with REAL pillows and a duvet. No AC needed, the area is nice and cool. We took a tour of the family's rice fields and vetegable garden. The highlight of this accommodation is the food that the family prepares for you. We have been in Sri Lanka for almost a year, and this was by far the best food we have had! The breakfast is included and is huge and varied. They provide many different options including fruits, hoppers, juices, teas, coffees, dahl, sambol, pancakes, rotis, avocado and so much more! We decided to order dinner through the accommodation as well. Each dinner has about 10 different dishes and you are able to make requests if needed. We had all sorts of incredible food like jackfruit curry, fish curry, chicken curry, noodles, rice, eggs, papadom, and everything else you could think of! (And beers) All in all, our stay here was absolutely incredible and it was the highlight of our trip. We can highly recommend!!

Loved everything! Room was so cute and decent! Totally worth the price! Toilet was a little bit outdated in terms of the design but the whole room as well as the toilet was very clean and well maintained! The view was incredible and the restaurant food was so delicious! The owner and the staff were all so kind and arranged everything we requested for perfectly! The cubes Ella made our trip in Ella complete.
