Our host was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to meet our every want and need. He drove us and picked us up, suggested activities, and helped us out in an emergency when we needed to go to the local hospital. The rooms boast amazing views of the jungle, which is full of fireflies at night. They also have a projector so you can stream entertainment of your choice. 10/10 I strongly recommend Fern Hill cabins for your stay in Ella.

A great location but in the mountain sharply so we were driving a car and got complications in the evening cause buses and other cars come up and down so … but the rest was perfect - a good terrace with Mountain View , very hospitable owners, great breakfast and all what we need as toiletries , towels , separate kitchen . Home Away certainly deserves a 10 for all standard Booking.com parameters like cleanliness, location, comfort, ambience, facilities and, most of all, breakfast, omg what an incredibile breakfast! home-cooked delicious Sri Lankan food, which changes every day, if you stay more than one day you will get the chance to try all type of food Sri Lankan eat in the morning and be sure that you will feel full till dinner time!). But there is a parameter for which this place deserves a 20, that doesn't exist on Booking.com: LOVE. Yes, because the love and kindness I have received from the entire family at Home Away was absolutely unique and exceptional. People in Sri Lanka are kind and most of guest houses receive appreciation for their kindness in their reviews, but what Hansi and Sachi did for me definely over-scored any other place in the world. They did the impossible to make my stay perfect, they shared so much love, they welcame me in their house like I was family, they enriched my knowledge about Sri Lanka, its culture and its food with their detailed explanations, they gave me tips and assistance, they helped me. But, most importantly, they gave me love, a lot of love, which I will never forget and I will bring home with me. This is the best place you can be during your stay in Ella, just open your heart and be ready to receive their gentle smile.

The location was great, with a direct view on the waterfall from our balcony. The service was the best we got during our trip, Senu was a great help for accommodating transport from and to the hotel and a guide for the Ella rock trail. The breakfasts we got were delicious and local, and always served on time! The room was spacious and very clean.
