Every now and then you stay in accommodation that makes you wish you were able to live in permanently, and consider redecorating your own house. This is one of those places. The owners have exquisite taste in terms of decor, and at the same time have created a comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Small details (you can try their impressive tea collection and enjoy the equally impressive record and CD collection) make this so much more than just another hotel/apartment. The staff in the cafe downstairs are very friendly, and for a drink and something light to eat I would not bother going anywhere else. Vianden is a lovely town to walk around, visit the castle or do a bit of hiking.

What can I say about this place? We've never stayed anywhere quite like it! When we pulled up to the property, we thought that there must have been some mistake, as it looked like it had not been renovated, with old cracked and rusty framed windows. However we quickly realised that behind this facade was an incredible renovation of the old black smith's forge. We entered to find a lovely kitchen, a seating area, bedroom and bathroom. All open plan with curtains separating each area. The real striking thing about this property is the stone walls and ceiling. It's basically a posh cave, complete with cobwebs and that strange smell that you get in them. As a holiday let, it's so incredibly unique that we just loved it. It's just those little details, like the lovely copper basin in the bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The location is fantastic. Not far from Vianden Castle and on a lovely cobbled street. The communication from Mayke before our stay was just amazing. Every bit of information that we could want. I only realised during our stay that she owns and has renovated several properties, and I do mean to look more into these and what she and Pascal have done. The key was in a keysafe next to the front door, so we had no problems checking ourselves in. We also loved the little details, like the light under the bed that came on automatically when you put your foot down. Small things that have a big impact. I definitely want to return to this place.

It was a very comfortable stay! Very clean and a big appartment for the two of us. Also nice with the tv that can have channels from our country. The view from the backyard was incredible. The sun is shining at the yard, that makes it comfortabel to be outside. Also location was nice, by car or buss is everything duable! We recommend this stay!

What can I say about this place? We've never stayed anywhere quite like it! Good location close to town centre, allocated courtyard rooms which were perfectly adequate and host allowed us access to a seperate room for drying our motorbike gear which was great. Good choice of breakfast

The host was fantastic, a real gentleman. Rooms were spacious even though I booked a small twin. Very clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom was very large and clean. Ideally situated to centre for bars and restaurants only a five minute walk.
