Just a 5-minute walk both from Heiligenblut’s centre and ski area, the family-run Hotel Kaiservilla features a spa area with a Finnish sauna and a steam bath, and a ski storage room with a ski boot dryer. The Großglockner High Alpine Road can be accessed 50 metres from the hotel. This part was the highlight of our austria trip. Exceptional place and a fantastic hotel. If you are planning for a visit to austria, this is a must visit place and stay at Kaiservilla :-). View from the hotel is mind-blowing

Family-run for over 300 years, Gasthof Post in Rennweg is just off the A10 motorway and a 5-minute drive from the Katschberg Ski Area. It offers a sauna, steam bath, and free Wi-Fi. The restaurant serves traditional Austrian and Carinthian cuisine. We enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Post very much. Traditional Austrian decor with the hints of modern was exactly what we wanted. Super clean, comfortable bads and specious rooms. Great Austrian hospitality.

All of the elegantly furnished rooms have a balcony, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a flat-screen satellite TV. They are all soundproofed and come equipped with a minibar. Nearly everything and everyone there is just great. Restaurant is classy with great food and atmosphere for the evenings, and the breakfast is just superior to many 5-star hotels. Selection of herbal and fruit teas is enormous. Staff is very pleasant and helpful, everything in hotel is modern, common area doors are automatic touch-free, rooms are spacious with a large entry area which is especially convenient if you came skiing. Open all year, Hotel Post Wrann features a reception, a large lounge, and 2 seminar rooms. In summer you can enjoy a pizzeria and a lido with free sun loungers, sun shades and mini golf. Bicycles are provided free of charge. The hotel is excellent, beautifully furnished, exceptionally large rooms with a spacious bathroom and lovely balcony right in the heart of Velden. The spa is very nice and the breakfast was tasty with a wide range of options available. The restaurant is very good and we ate lunch and dinner there also and it was very good. We also took advantage of the free bicycle option and cycled all the way around Lake Worthersee, a very nice trip. Expensive but standard for the location. We didn't use the lake access but were given passes if we had wanted to do so.
