Pousada Marendaz checked all the boxes for me. It is located very close to the historic center and a short walk to/from the bus terminal. Breakfast in the courtyard was very nice. The room was comfortable and had good air conditioning. The staff were always helpful. I would like to particularly note Simone who answered my many questions(english) and helped me book tours. Her thoughtful Christmas gifts were a lovely surprise. She was a treasure trove of local knowledge, offering perfect suggestions on what to see, which beaches to visit, and the best open restaurants. To top it all off, she even arranged a taxi for our return to the port, which was the cherry on top of her wonderful hospitality. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The property is on arguably the best spot of angra dos reis and we enjoyed a good and comfortable stay. The house lays directly to the bay, so we could swim and kayak while at the property. Marco was a great host and offered great facilities for our stay. We would like to come back when possible.
