The hotel was near the train station but no noise disturbed me at all during those 7-night stay.

It is in a quiet village where you can enjoy the countryside and stay away from the very touristy parts nearby, but can still go see them very easily (less than 10 mins away from all the popular hikes, and you get a great view of the mountains as you drive towards them). The dinner menu is great and the breakfast is filling with lots of variety. It gave us a chance to try the different sorts of local cheese!

The accommodation provides private check-in and check-out, a minimarket and organising tours for guests. This is a beautiful little cabin with stunning views. It was near to Appenzell and Gais. There’s a bit of a walk steep and upwards after you park up, only a minute or so, but just make sure you bring good shoes. Our children loved it, especially the sheep. Highly recommended
