We travelled through Guatemala and this was kind of a break from our tight schedule and we couldn’t be happier. The accommodation is amazing (the scenery made me forget the fact we had to share a bathroom with the other guests), and the whole staff is kind and nice. Definitely a recommendation and, if I ever go back to Guatemala, I will definitely book a (longer) stay here!

The staff was very kind, and they would help you with any question. They cook home made food which is delicious. You can rent kayaks and SUP for a very convenient price. We loved it there! Although we happened to be there in a very hot and humid day, we did enjoy the stay 100%. There are a lot of travelers and you can meet new people, the environment is friendly and chill.

The hotel has a hot tub and room service. When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

Also all other employees were working with a smile and happy to help you with any kind of questions. We also received a nice tour through the beautiful garden. Easy to reach via whatsapp for any questions like boat pick-ups and happy to give tips for traveling. 5 star service! Rooms are clean and comfortable with great beds and it is a beautiful place.

Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and organising tours for guests. Probably the nicest place of the whole town. There was such a beautiful Family vibe at the Breakfast table. Flor, the Person in Charge is super nice and helps you with tips and information.

At the hotel, the rooms have a patio with a river view. Free WiFi is accessible to all guests, while some rooms are fitted with a terrace. This was consistently the best food we had during our whole stay in Guatemala. The common lodge was so homey and inviting. We loved hearing the rain on our tin roof in our building. Bonus: The ferry to Livingston left directly from the Hotel pier. It was wonderful.

It feels like you’re in the middle of the jungle but you’re also right next to the river. They have family dinners every night which is a good time to meet new people and the staff are soooooo nice!

Located in Rio Dulce and with Castillo de San Felipe de Lara reachable within 11 km, Linda Vista provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a restaurant. The accommodation features room service, free shuttle service and organising tours for guests. This was the best place I stayed in my three weeks in Guatemala! Should've come here first. I appreciated how clean my room and bathroom were! Great A/C and a ceiling fan. The bedroom window had a screen. The young ladies were always helpful and friendly! They call for a tuk-tuk if you need one. As a bonus, they said the 8am boat to Rio Dulce picks up right at the property dock, so no need to go into town.
