Designated smoking are just makes you want to smoke :). Close to bus stop for routes needed for sightseeing. Didnt feel like leaving the building, thats how pretty it is. Would definitely stay there again!

Spacious (seriously spacious, especially for Japan) room, all the needed facilities, including big fridge, lounging area, super convenient coffee kettle, and lots of storage space. Very green-conscious. Laundry is on-line payable and controlled. Perfectly located close to all main sites and promenade, but noise insulation is great, so we had fantastic sleep. We had a great deal or the stay and I would definitely stay again when in Yokohama. Btw, if you are arriving by Minatomirai line, head for exit 4, it's just next to the hotel and has elevator (weirdly enough maps send you to the exit 2).

Kamakura no Nikki is located in Kamakura, 500 metres from Yuigahama Beach, 2.3 km from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, as well as 22 km from Sankeien. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house features family rooms. The owner of the property is proactive, asking us about our arrival time. We were given duck cookies (a delicacy of kamakura) and two luggage tags as a gift. We got here easily via train. It’s also a stone throw’s away from the beach and the Buddha. The best part of staying here is being able to do laundry for free. We had been travelling for 2 weeks before coming to Kamakura so we had a mountain of laundry. Water pressure in the shower is also 10/10.

It had everything we needed and more: • Large room with 2 comfortable double beds • Projector, with Netflix, Prime etc. (note you’ll have to sign in if you have an account) • Kitchenette • washing machine/dryer • Dining room • Balcony with foot spa • And the best bits, Sauna and Private indoor onsen bath in the room (with Mountain View - not Mt Fuji but it was still nice being surrounded by greenery after our city trips) They even provided us with some snacks and drinks in the fridge which was a lovely touch! We got the J bus from Odawara (I think it said approx 30 mins but with traffic took a bit longer!) The bus stop pretty much stops 100m from the hotel. There’s a bus stop across the road that takes you back towards Hakone/Odawara. There’s Kowakudani Station 5 mins walk from the hotel (which will take you to Hakone and Odawara too) We recommend going to Hakone Picnic, Taiwanese restaurant for food. The food and service was great, and it had incredible views of the mountain, again 5 mins walk from the hotel. A little further up the hill maybe another 5 mins is a 7 eleven. Despite not having a reception, check in was fairly straightforward (this can be done in your room) and queries were quickly answered and resolved through a FaceTime call (using their iPad). Note: details for access and your room is provided prior to your stay via email/booking.com messages. I’d definitely stay in a Rakuten hotel again!

The room was very big and comfortable and the food and the breakfast were delicious!
