This was a very positive experience. The room (end of the corridor) was plenty big enough for the two of us, allowing us to pack the three suitcases we had before sending them to the airport. Laundry facilities were clever, as you could see on your TV when a machine was available. Cleaning staff were exceptionally helpful - one day we asked for extra water as we were thirsty, and the lady remembered the following day as well. Reception team were professional but still friendly - you always get a better vibe in Tohoku in comparison to Kanto, in my opinion. Also, there was a microwave available near our room, which enabled us to cook proper meals when we weren't eating out. The bathroom was really nice, too - unusually spacious.

Το Bridge33 CAFE AND HOSTEL είναι σε Takagi, σε απόσταση 11 χλμ από το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Βωμός Shiogama και διαθέτει κλιματιζόμενα καταλύματα και μπαρ. Very nice people, clean facilities, cute bar downstairs, with spacious rooms and delicious breakfast (paid). It was a very enjoyable experience. Please do mind that most activity plays at the other part of Matsushima, which is about half an hour walking.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Where to begin? The room was excellent in size and had a nice feeling to it. The onsen was close by. The staff was so kind and service minded. The whole experience with dinner and breakfast was exceptional, especially the staff member whom served us with excellent English. Just the whole experience was quite wonderful.

The views over the islands of Matsushima were superb - truly one of the 3 great views of Japan! Our room overlooked the famous Fukuurabashi bridge through a picturesque screen of the twisted pine trees that make this view so iconic. The kaiseki style meals were superb - delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish was a delight of discovery, awe and wonder. We enjoyed a private onsen bath with sunset views and also visited each of the other public baths over the next day. The views over the bay are simply stunning.

Το 塩釜バケーションレンタルKiten, που βρίσκεται σε Shiogama διαθέτει δωρεάν WiFi. Απέχει 1,2 χλμ από Βωμός Shiogama, 16 χλμ από Sendai City Community Support Center και 10 χλμ από Ναός Entsuin. It's a lovely big house, with comfy beds and lots of space to spread out and relax in. It's very near a station, so it has good links into Sendai and beyond if you don't have a car. If you have a car, there is free parking about 5 minutes walk away from the property. It's a 25 minute or so drive to Matsushima Bay, which is well worth a visit (go to Oshima Island, it's magical) and an hour and a bit to Risshaku-Ji which is otherworldly. We only had time to do that, but there's plenty more you could do, and if you're visiting Sendai, give yourself more than the 2 full days we gave ourselves.
