Suriya Guest in Nuwara Eliya ligt op ongeveer 1 km van Lake Gregory en op 7 km van de botanische tuin van Hakgala. Er is gratis privéparkeergelegenheid op het eigen terrein. Het hotel wordt gerund door zachtaardige en gemoedelijke gastheren, je voelt je meteen welkom. De kamer is gezellig en stijlvol ingericht. De douche is heerlijk warm en de wifi werkt snel. Het dorp ligt op wandelafstand. Leuk restaurant (Themparadu) op 400m, maar je kan ook in het hotel (basic) dineren. Wij hadden mooi weer, maar bij slechter weer zijn er genoeg leuke plekjes om te zitten in de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes. Wij hadden oorspronkelijk maar 1 nacht, maar hebben meteen gevraagd voor een extra nacht. Fijn dat er verschillende ontbijtopties zijn (pannenkoeken, ei + toast, Sri Lankaans…).

Sun mount adams peak is gunstig gelegen in het centrum van Nallathanniya, en biedt gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie, een terras en gratis privéparkeren. Great location for the walk up Adams Peak. The staff were very helpful with a good local place to eat and timings on when to start walking. Also great breakfast in the morning and they allowed for a slightly later check out which wasn’t needed but good to know.

Absolutely everything. Krishna is an amazing host. From the moment my husband and I arrived we were treated with so much warmth and he made us feel at home. The room is spacious with a private bathroom, and there is also a common area to chill or have food. The location is great because at night time it is super quiet and we slept super well. No noises no disturbance. It is just a little walk to town, but nearby there are great coffee shops and restaurants. I would love to add something else I think is very important. Unfortunately on our second day in Nuwara, Ditwah cyclon came over and devastated the whole country. We couldn't continue our trip and had to stay in Nuwara. Thanks to Krishna hospitality we had a roof to stay warm and safe, we had homemade food and someone who kept us informed and protected. So I can only be grateful to have met this wonderful person and to share time with him. He went beyond and above to make my husband and I feel comfortable. His generosity and hospitality will always be one of the best memories I had of Sri Lanka. There are no words to express my gratitude. All I can tell is this is maybe not a fancy hotel, but it is the best accommodation you could stay in Nuwara because the people in charge are truly amazing. By the way, his wife and his little baby are so friendly too, and we were very happy to meet them. Thank you!!!!

Prachtig oud koloniaal huis op loopafstand van het centrum, gelegen in een rustige straat. Mooie kamers (bed is wel erg kort). Door de vele zitplekjes in het huis en de keuken die je mag gebruiken, voelt het meer aan als een hostel dan hotel. Aardig en behulpzaam personeel. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is erg goed.

The hospitality was great, the staff was so respectful, they packed my breakfast for me as I had an early departure, I was greeted with tea upon arrival and at my departure, my room was breathtaking with 2 stories. And it had such a lovely view. I for sure would stay there again.

Our room was spotlessly clean and cozy, with an absolutely charming flower-filled balcony that made sunrise magical. Our host, Sanjaya, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He was so welcoming and caring, taking us to a gems shop and patiently waiting while we explored, helping us find perfect jackets, bringing us to amazing local restaurants, and showing us around Nuwara Eliya. The next morning after serving us a delicious homemade breakfast, he kindly drove us to the train station himself. What makes this place truly special is how the whole family makes you feel at home. If you want more than just accommodation but a genuine cultural experience with the kindest hosts, don't look further. Our highest recommendation! ✨

We really enjoyed our stay. Chaminda is an excellent host. He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of accurate, up to date information about the area and things to do (much more up to date information than we were able to find online). The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. The bedding is nice, warm and cosy – perfect for the slightly cooler weather in Nuwara Eliya. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast was nice and always on time each morning. We’d happily stay again.
