Shardul and his family were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the park, the wildlife and the local community. The food was absolutely delicious, the accommodation very comfortable and the Jeep and walking safari come highly recommended. Shardul is an excellent guide and knows the park extremely well - we were lucky enough to see a leopard, rhino and large herd of elephants on our first day. I only wish I could have stayed longer - I will try to make it back one day!

We enjoyed the place, the food and the company. We also booked three safaris with Baba and it was incredible! We have been really lucky to have them (they were two) as our guides. They are local and is incredible their knowledge of the place and the species therein, and also their passion for their work. Absolutely awesome! It has been a plesure to meet Baba and to spend this week with him, his family and friends and rest of the staff. We will never forget Tiger land.

Set in Bhurkīā, Nanu's Bardiya Homestay offers accommodation with a patio. There is a private entrance at the homestay for the convenience of those who stay. All rooms are equipped with a terrace with views of the garden. i spent a good stay in that nice family. nanu and his wife kali take care of you very well. she cooks a delicious dahl. And nanu explains you how the safari goes to happen. he will be your guide during the safari. i did safari walking and jeep. i saw tigers/rhinoceros/elephants/snakes/monkeys...). good price!! there are 2 or 3 rooms. usually not a lot of people. big room with mosquito net, fan ceiling and your own bathroom. it was clean. nothing to say. i paid 210€ in all : for 4 safaris walking and 1 safari jeep, meals, free water bottles, room. 8.5 days!! safari begins at 7am and finishes like 6pm. bardia park is good if you want to avoid the tourists like in chitwan. so lets go to nanu homestay if u want a very good experience in a local family instead a ressort expensive and without contact with the owner.

They have a wide selection of authentic local food to choose from. If you're in the right season, you can also get to try some fresh local honey! The location of the homestay is great, it is very close to the entrance of the national park. We had a great stay here, and had some incredible wildlife sightings (Rhinos, elephants, tigers, hornbills) thanks to the sharp eyes of Tek Bahadur (fondly called Pappu). Will definitely come to visit again!

Mukti and Renuka are the most lovely people, they made our stay just terrific! The local and organic food from the garden was amazing. Mukti is the best safari guide you can ask. We enjoyed every minute in the week we spent there.

Namaste Bardiya Resort is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Bhurkīā, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. This bed and breakfast features free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Guests can make use of the outdoor fireplace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the river and garden. It was great, my original plan was to stay 3 nights and I like it so much I stayed 7. The owner Krishna and his family, helps me with everything I needed, if it’s information, food, laundry and more. And Krishna was my guide, he knows the park so well we saw tiger almost everyday thanks to him. The room is big and clean. Highly recommended

At the hotel, each room includes a balcony with a garden view. The private bathroom is equipped with a shower, free toiletries and slippers. A wonderful peaceful place with incredible service. Anil and his family and staff is very lovely people and will help you with whatever you need (junglewalk, jeep, treehouse, bus-tickets, ect). The food is so delicious and the prices are very friendly. I stayed here for 6 days :) Would recommend to everybody who visits Bardiya.

Breakfast is available, and includes à la carte, continental and vegetarian options. Pramesh and Noemi are the perfect hosts - they make sure you are happy at all times! They have both travelled themselves, so they know what makes for a comfortable stay, e.g. they have a chill-out space with hammocks, the beds are great, there is space to leave your stuff, the bathrooms don't have the usual nuisances like shower over the toilet and what we really appreciated: if you have no safari planned for the day, there is no fixed breakfast time, come when you like, so no stress. All the staff are super friendly too and it makes for a very relaxed stay. Dinner is great, everybody eats together and there is no menu but rather a different dinner set every night that can be altered to individual preferences/ needs. It is great to sit together in the evening and swap stories of the day. The place seems to attract a certain type of traveller and it fits really well and makes it enjoyable to have a drink and a chat together. Pramesh is also a guide in the Bardia National Park and we went on two trips with him, a walking and a jeep safari, and both were great. We had the impression that we got to see a lot more than other people who stayed at different lodges that we ran into. Ramesh is very experienced and has a lot of patience, so we really got to "meet" all the wonderful inhabitants: 5 tigers, one big male wild elephant, several rhinos, deers, different species of birds (also the big hornbills!), it was amazing! Ramesh's cheerful personality makes it a pleasure to spend time with him. We got a very warm send-off and it felt to us that we had arrived as strangers and left as friends. We hope to be back soon!
