It is also only a five minute walk from the airport which was handy for our flight to Lima. Although it would seem inconvenient for the city, we felt that it was better to pay a few Soles for the mototaxi to get into town and also have the entertainment of the ride through the traffic. It was worth the 20 minute ride to get to this haven of tranquility.

We spent the night in Iquitos either side of our trip out to an Amazon lodge, we loved our stay here and even looked forward to returning after our trip. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful and clearly pride themselves on delivering a nice stay to all their guests. The showers we hot and the aircon was great after coming from a cooler climate to the heat of the jungle. Breakfast was nice and fresh and the young man at reception helped us organise laundry and airport transfers very helpful, thank you for our stay!

It has amazing views over the river. Conveniently located behind a fruit & vegetable market, it is also only a block or so from the scenic Malecon & the main historic plaza. The hostel is magical. The high-ceilinged rooms are completely covered with vividly coloured murals. It reeks of charm. We took a room with a private bathroom. It was huge & the one wall was solid window looking out onto the river. The room is well-appointed with a bar fridge, reading lamps, etc. linens & great wifi provided. The common room (where an excellent breakfast can be served) also has these amazing windows & views. Chip speaks English & he & Yessica have been in Iquitos a long while so can answer all questions.

Each room is individually designed with a price range to suit most budgets. The view, the comfort, the stuff. Very nice they let us keep our luggages till our return from Amazon Jungle. Very good position.

A recently renovated campground situated in Iquitos, Retazos Eco Hotel features a garden. With garden views, this accommodation offers a balcony. The campground features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. We had a nice stay here for x4 nights before our tour of the Amazon. It was nice to be somewhere peaceful so that we could properly relax & rest before our adventure. The hosts are very friendly too, the room was clean & the air conditioning & Wi-Fi worked well.
