Before arriving, we kept in touch with the host and they were very responsive. Our check in was also very easy and flexible. The room was great, very spacey, very well decorated, we loved some details of how they managed to merge modern decoration with some vintage/historic elements (e.g., the wardrobe, the light switches, etc.). It felt like travelling a bit back in time but at the same time having the comfort of modern times. The bathroom was also beautiful. Everyone was very nice and available. The breakfast was great, with plenty to choose from, very healthy and tasty. The courtyard is such a calm place to relax, with the pool and the lemon tree... it just begs to slow down and enjoy the moment without rushing.

Casa do Serro de Lá ligt in Santa Clara-a-Nova. Er is een terras en gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en je hebt uitzicht op de bergen. The house is very well taken care of and the decoration is incredible! Super cozy, with a very nice patio with a great view. We are leaving wanting to come back!

Alentejo Cante & Vinho heeft een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge en een terras in Ferreira do Alentejo. Alles maar dan ook alles. Wat een mooie accomodatie. Rui de gastheer stond ons al op te wachten op straat. Een gastvrij onthaal gehad en vervolgens een rondleiding door een van zijn wijnkelders. Rui vertelde vol passie over de traditionele manier van wijn maken wat hij doet. Rui heeft ons vervolgens een restaurant geadviseerd waar we goddelijk traditioneel hebben gegeten. Rui staat altijd voor je klaar en spreekt erg goed Engels. Ook de dame die de kamer schoonmaakt wil ik nog even benoemen. Wat een lieverd. Je hebt het gevoel of je een huis tot je beschikking hebt omdat je alles mag gebruiken. Uiteindelijk of een nacht bij kunnen boeken en een dag mee geweest met druiven plukken en wijn maken. Wat een belevenis. Ik denk 1 van de allerbeste locaties waar wij hebben overnacht tijdens onze vele vakanties. Wij zijn verliefd geworden op deze parel.

Very nondescripive from the outside, but very comfortable and cozy inside. It was kept as true to the original as possible but with the modern comforts such as wonderful hot shower and super comfortable mattress.

On my 1,000-kilometre round trip through Portugal, I was glad to have discovered a bicycle hotel along the way. No, the hotel is not only very nice for cyclists, but it is particularly nice for them. At the end of November, I was actually the only guest. Suzanna had already contacted me in advance by phone and then by WhatsApp and sent me the access codes as a precaution. However, she received me in person upon my arrival. We had a nice and also a bit longer conversation. I felt very comfortable and almost like family. The hotel has a very unique and pleasant atmosphere, both due to its location on a pretty little street and its ambience. You can follow the owners' great bicycle adventure trips on the maps on the wall and get a bit excited about them. My room was very cosy and I fell asleep very quickly after a strenuous day's cycling. The next day, I received the most delicious breakfast on my fortnight-long trip through Portugal at the time of my choice (I was able to choose a ‘menu’), a really very "sofisticated" porridge with persimmon and matching spices. Delicious and a good source of energy for the mountain stage to Faro that day. During my search for possible tour recommendations for unpaved roads, I found the homepage of the gravel race (https://www.gravelbirds.cc/) with a route recommendation. I couldn't use it very well for me because my direction from north to south didn't fit well with it. But the pictures on the homepage got me in the right mood in the last few days before the start of my trip. It was perhaps no surprise that the hotel owners are also the co-organisers of this race. As a small ‘compensation’ I received several route recommendations (sent digitally) for the further route in the beautiful surroundings and was really very grateful for that. Would I like to come back? Yes, definitely.

The property was stunning both the apartment and the grounds. We were just driving home and wanted a stopover for an evening, but I would have liked to stay much longer. We had a lovely sitting room, kitchen, and balcony with a loft bedroom. The interior was creative, clean, and just very nicely done. The grounds were incredible with a shared outdoor kitchen, sauna, pool, and hottub. We went on a great hike to a local river beach. The host was incredibly kind and attentive! We will be back.
