Wow! This place was absolutely perfect. Large rooms, super comfy beds and two separate bathrooms. Only booked one night, wished we'd booked more. Easy to get to, GPS in car was wrong, parking great. Super quiet site (no road noise) and facilities were fantastic. Clearly a very well looked after property.

It's a lovely place with a gracious and kind hostess. We were very happy with our room, beds and breakfast. There is a boiler room which is great for drying wet stuff - pretty handy! Many restaurants nearby.

I had a fabulous stay at this lodge which is truly stunning and very comfortable especially the bed which was so cosy . It is probably the best equipped self catering accomodation i have ever stayed in with all the mod cons and equipment that you would need. I was privileged to be the first guest to stay in this new Lodge and was greeted with a wonderful welcome pack which was a lovely surprise. There are beautiful views from the Lodge and its location is well placed for easy access to both Carlisle and Penrith. The site is on the 104 bus route which has a regular service from Carlisle to Penrith and Center Parks. I felt so at home in the Lodge and didnt want to leave, it really was my happy place at a time when i really needed it. Thank you Steve and Susanna you are amazing hosts.

Beautiful tranquil location very relaxing after m6 mileage with welcoming and friendly staff. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms (due to my limited budget) it was clean beautifully decorated and furnished with a small but perfect en suite. The breakfast was excellent and we also ate in the restaurant in the evening, my husband highly recommends the steak. Our stay at Willowbeck Lodge was very good value for money and put us in holiday mode for the rest of our trip north.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

We liked everything about our stay. The cabin was just perfect for us. We stayed one night to break up our travelling to the Highlands and booked two nights on our way back to Wales. The owners were so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Was left supplies and a bottle of bubbly which was extremely kind. So much space outside for our dog to run around, she certainly loved it there. It was so relaxing, would stay again if travelling in that area.

The walks around the cabin are great. The facilities in the cabin are good. We had a BBQ. We saw lots of wildlife. It was a great little family getaway, you can feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.
