Our luxury hut was set deep in the Timbavati private game reserve. The drive to Motswari itself is lined with all the wildlife you’d hope to see on a trip to Africa. We had a magical stay here (2 nights). From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are really looked after. The service from the staff was next level, they made you feel so welcome and clearly wanted you to have a special experience. Our game driver Godfrey and tracker Elly were charismatic and so informative about the African bush and wildlife. We saw all the big 5 and more, with the most special experience of spotting a leopard in the tree protecting its kill - something we’ll never forget. When not on a game drive you get to enjoy the beautiful views of the reserve from the pool or restaurant where elephants, giraffes and hyenas regularly stroll past. The food and drink was exceptional, they ensured each meal was different and set in a new location, from bush breakfasts to dinners around a log fire and braai. It was a once in a lifetime experience, we certainly hope we'll return some day!

The lodge was stunning. So tranquil and nestled away in nature. The rooms and main lodge dining area faced the watering hole so we were spoilt for choice with elephants, giraffes, warthog and kudu right in front of our eyes at all times. The staff were the most welcoming, friendly and professional group of people. They could not help us enough. The game drivers and trackers (shoutout to Dennis and Daniel) were incredible. We saw every animal we could have ever hoped for including 2 leopards and we got so close! Obi was our butler and cared for us from start to finish. The cleaning staff left our room so beautiful every day. Honestly the most astounding and outstanding place.

We came here for the safari and it didn’t disappoint. We had six amazing game drives with Themba and Golden - absolute legends - where we saw plenty of animals from Leopard to Rhinos and everything in between. We had Aubrey to look after us throughout our stay - again, legend - and basically all staff there from management to housekeeping were just so amazingly kind and helpful. The 10-rating is without a doubt because of them.

The bungalows/chalets are so beautiful! Crisp fresh linen and very comfortable beds! Exactly what you need after a long day in the Kruger Park! The lodge is upmarket and very pleasant on the eye. A hidden gem!

Africa on Foot is located in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. The rustic-style camp features thatched chalet accommodation, a bar and a viewing deck with splash pool and sun loungers.

Our stay at the beautiful Last Word Kitara was truly special. The lodge is set in a peaceful, breathtaking environment where you can completely immerse yourself in nature. The rooms are spacious, perfectly clean, and come with a beautiful balcony — the ideal spot to unwind between game drives. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Every meal was delicious, and the attention to detail was impressive — the table was always beautifully set, with a different and thoughtful arrangement each time, which made every dining experience feel unique and personal. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always helpful. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, and their warmth added so much to our overall experience. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing guide Matt and tracker Patrick. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five all in one day, which was truly unforgettable. What really stood out was Matt’s genuine passion for animals — whether it was birds or big cats, his enthusiasm was contagious and made every sighting even more exciting. I particularly enjoyed watching how he and Patrick tracked the animals — carefully reading signs, interpreting tracks, and slowly piecing together where the wildlife might be. Being part of that process made each drive feel like a real adventure. This was such a wonderful way to celebrate my graduation.
