Guests can also relax in the garden. The perfect place for some rainforest relaxation. Jhon coordinated everything prior to our arrival, including boat to/from Mocagua and tours. On arrival we were met by Nelson and transported to the location by boat and 15 min walk (high water season). We did several activities, most within walking distance of the accommodation. Standout was the Cocoa Route, harvesting and processing chocolate from their own trees. The place is owned by a local family and they were lovely (even with our poor Spanish).

You sleep with all the animal sounds at night, it’s even more amazing when it rains but it gets really really loud at night, if you need a quiet place to sleep this is not it. I listen to animal and rainy sounds on spotify to fall asleep so it was easy for me. There will also be insects in the house (which I didn’t mind). The shower is spacious. Pilar is a very friendly and attentive host and will organize the tours for you. Just tell her what you want to do. Wifi works good.

The bungalows at Hotel Amazon are set around a large courtyard. They feature LCD TV and a seating area. Free Internet is also available. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, including air conditioning. The included breakfast was great!
